Welcome Back To Paragon!

We can officially cross one NYC nightclub closure off the list. Welcome back to Paragon.
TENz first introduced Paragon Broadway to our followers in 2022 shortly after its opening, quickly building  a relationship with the venue and its team. Over the next few years, we hosted unforgettable nights with some of the best to ever “Pump The Beat”, including River Moon, The Carry Nation, TYGAPAW, Leonce, and Byrell the Great.

Byrell the Great is New York City’s king ballroom DJ. His eclectic club sounds, along with Sailey aka Madam007 on the mic, had Paragon shaking as voguing broke out in the DJ booth and on the dancefloor below.
In January 2025, Paragon announced it could no longer sustain the financial pressures facing the nightlife industry and would close its doors in April. Over the past 15 months, TENz has been closely tracking the rise in beloved NYC club closures, and Paragon’s potential loss sent shockwaves through DJ culture and dance music lovers alike. In its final weeks, the space was filled with both sadness and joy, as well as a quiet hope that the club might somehow survive.
That hope has now become reality.
This July, Paragon received a powerful lifeline from one of the most influential figures in dance music. Kevin Saunderson, one-third of The Belleville Three—the Detroit pioneers credited with creating techno—and one-half of the dance group Inner City, has joined as the venue’s newest partner and resident DJ.
“Coming back to Brooklyn, where my story started, and bringing what Detroit gave me—it feels like a full-circle moment,” Saunderson told TENz. “Clubs like the Paradise Garage and the Loft shaped my soul, and now Paragon gives me the chance to give that energy back to a new generation.”
The July programming is stacked with legends and innovators. From Saunderson and Joey Beltram to Safety Trance and Uniiqu3, the lineup honors the club’s commitment to bold, meaningful dance music from across the spectrum.
August programming will be limited to Fridays, with one standout: Dominican Night returns on Sunday, August 10. This marks the third annual post-parade celebration at Paragon and continues to be one of the most anticipated, community-focused events of the summer. The full Friday and Saturday schedule resumes in September, with lineups and tickets to be announced soon.
Operations will still be managed by the same team Myrtle/Broadway has come to love, with modest yet gratifying upgrades on just about every relevant parameter including—but not limited to—sound, lighting, design and ventilation.
“Paragon represents the kind of space where past, present, and future dance together. I’m here not just to play music , but to help keep the spirit of real club culture alive—raw, soulful, and forward-thinking.” -Kevin Saunderson

In a time of club closures, Paragon’s revival is more than a reopening. It is a rare rebirth.
